“We plan to maintain the integrity of the Watershed brand, including the inspired cuisine of acclaimed Chef Truex, while updating it with a modern sensibility reflective of the new location and the culinary diversity of the South,” said co-owner Ross Jones. The menu changes often, but the famous fried chicken and biscuits will now be offered every Wednesday.
Owners Ross Jones, Indigo Girls’ Emily Saliers and Chef Joe Truex have brought on Julia LeRoy on as chef de cuisine. According to the press materials, LeRoy "a self-proclaimed Francophile with a taste for local ingredients, seasonal flavors, whole-food nourishment and the healing power of food – will expand on Watershed’s Southern-inspired cuisine with flavors from the Georgia Coast to the Louisiana Bayou and everything in between including the diverse ethnic flavors found throughout the South."
Designed by Smith Hanes, the 175-seat space is located inside Atlanta's only LEED-certified high-rise condominium. The restaurant has four distinct spaces: the bar, the dining room, the outdoor terrace and the private dining room. All have a modern neighborhood feel with a beachy touch (e.g., driftwood tables).
Half dozen roasted oysters ($14.75) with anchovy lemon butter. Yum.
Hot milk cake with caramel icing and sea salt ($8). The cake was not hot, by the way. But it was delicious. Caramel + Salt = Amazing Yumminess.
Bottom Line:Welcome back, friend. You have been missed.
