About Mandarine Napoléon
Hailed as "one of the great classic liqueurs" by Simon Difford, Mandarine Napoléon is an exquisite, well-balanced blend of mandarins and refined 10-year-old aged cognac. Dating back to the early 1800s and its roots stemming from the hands of Napoléon Bonaparte, the liqueur’s history is as rich as its distinctive flavor. The drink was custom made for Napoléon Bonaparte after the emperor came across the chemist Antoine-François de Fourcroy, known for his extraordinary skill of distilling. It was not until 1892, after thetwo had died, that the liqueur was introduced to the public.
Relaunched in the U.S. last year, Mandarine Napoléon is the first liqueur composed of mandarins and cognac, permitting a smooth taste, as opposed to the sour flavor encountered in other citrus-based liqueurs. Last month's Wine Enthusiast rated Mandarine Napoléon (SRP $37.50) 94 points, higher than the brand’s well established competitors, and equal to Grand Marnier 100YR edition (SRP $145).
About Zignum Mezcal
Made with 100 percent green agave and exuding a smooth, earthy taste, Zignum Mezcal is easy to mix and a superior choice because of its purity. It is available in two styles: the fresh and crisp Silver Mezcal ($25.99) and the more refined Reposado Mezcal($29.99), meaning “rested,” or aged for at least two months. The Silver version boasts a soft aroma, fruity notes and a delicate agave flavor, making it ideal for mixing, while the Reposado’s woodsy taste and delicate vanilla scent make it equally delicious on the rocks or as part of a mixed cocktail.
The seamless production process, untouched by human hands, is what makes Zignum Mezcal unique. Unlike other products on the market, the brand uses only the finest green agaves—known as espadin—a long, pointed-leafed agave grown for a minimum of eight years before it is plucked from the earth and separated from its pineapple-like core. The result is a smooth, refined and versatile spirit that is certified Kosher and has 40 percent alcohol by volume.
